Catelynn Lowell has been gushing about her daughter, Nova Reign, since her birth on Jan. 1, and amid her mushy tweets came a new revelation that she is nursing her and Tyler Baltierra's little girl!
Catelynn tweeted about how 3am feedings are totally worth it, and then responded to a fan’s question revealing that she is indeed breastfeeding Nova and is “starting to get the hang of it.” And Cate isn't the first Teen Mom who's been vocal about her love (or loathe) for breastfeeding!
It’s still unclear whether or not Maci Bookout will breastfeed her little girl that’s due in June, but Maci chose not to do so with her son, Bentley. In this video clip from Maci’s episode of 16 & Pregnant, the then-pregnant teen explains why she opted out of breastfeeding and preferred to feed her son formula.
Maci revealed in the clip that she heard that breastfeeding was healthier for the baby, but her reasoning for not doing it sort of makes sense, too. “For one, it makes your boobs like, raw,” Maci says. “And for two, I heard it’s completely overwhelming and exhausting for the mom, especially in the middle of the night.” Maci and his dad, Ryan Edwards, bottle-fed little Bentley, but he turned out more than okay!
Jenelle Evans breastfed Kaiser after he was born in June of 2014, and we even saw her nursing him on the most recent season of Teen Mom 2. However, Jenelle quit when the baby was about a month old, which some haters criticized at the time, saying that she stopped so quickly because she wanted to start smoking cigarettes again.

But regardless of why she stopped, during those 30 days that Jenelle was giving Kai breastmilk, she was very open about it, often posting about it on social media.
Farrah Abraha's approach to breastfeeding was similar to Jenelle's in that she decided to nurse Sophia but only for a short amount of time.
In this excerpt from Farrah’s book, My Teenage Dream Ended, Farrah explains that she breastfed for a little while because Sophia enjoyed it, but she didn’t love that it was “extra work” and that it made her boobs hurt. Just sayin'—we bet the breast implants Farrah got later in life made her boobs hurt way more than nursing did…
But perhaps none of the Teen Mom girls are as pro-breastfeeding as Kailyn Lowry. Kail has posted tons of photos of herself feeding Lincoln when he was an infant—at home, on-set, etc—and even had to defend her behavior on social media when fans called the act “classless.” “Do you cover YOUR face while you’re eating though,” Kail responded. Touche, girl!
Kail has also been seen on numerous occasions nursing Lincoln on the show, and she even participated in a photo shoot a few months ago that's purpose was to normalize breastfeeding. Clearly Kail has a lot in common with these other celebrities who proudly breastfeed in public!
