Chris Brown Is Supporting Feminism & We're All Confused

When we think of men in Hollywood who support feminists, Chris Brown probably would not top that list. With his timeline of alleged violence against women, the singer has been more often associated with abuse against women, which makes it that much more eyebrow-raising that he was wearing a feminist T-shirt while shooting a new music video...seriously!
While in Los Angeles at a water park, the bad boy was seen wearing a T-shirt with the phrase "Destroy the Superabundance, Choke Sobs, Starve the Flesh. Choke Sobs, Swallow Chatter" on it.
The phrase is part of a quote written by well known feminist and neo-conceptualist artist, Jenny Holzer. The rest of the quote reads, “Destroy superabundance. Starve the flesh, shave the hair, clarify the mind, define the will, restrain the senses, leave the family, flee the church, kill the vermin, vomit the heart, forget the dead. Limit time, forgo amusement, deny nature, reject acquaintances, discard objects, forget truths, dissect myth, stop motion, block impulse, choke sobs, swallow chatter."
It is more than ironic that Chris would wear anything supporting women's rights and equality. Just months ago, his ex-GF, Karrueche Tran, was granted a restraining order requiring Chris to stay away from her after she claimed he was threatening to shoot her, and telling friends if he couldn't have her no one else could. She also claimed in her legal docs that he brutalized her, punching her in the stomach and throwing her down the stairs.

And, of course, fans can't forget how he brutally beat on his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, leaving her with a busted lip and black eye.
Speaking of Rihanna, Chris also outraged fans this week when he complimented her on Instagram, posting an emoji under her photos from the Kadooment Day celebrations in Barbados.
Many could not believe he'd have the audacity to try and hit on her over the Internet after the abuse he put her through. But evidently, he's unbothered by the drama.
