Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow may have had one of the friendliest divorces of all time — and even invented the term “conscious uncoupling” — but that doesn’t mean Chris wants to totally erase all traces of their former romance! Gwyneth has taken to calling her ex-husband “brother” in interviews and on social media, and Chris is fed up with the bizarre nickname!
“He thinks it sounds weird to his fans,” an insider told In Touch, adding that Gwyn’s use of the term brother to describe Chris “has really gotten under his skin.”
“It makes it sound like they have always had a platonic relationship and he thinks it’s confusing to the kids,” the source explained. Chris and Gwyn have two kids together, Apple, 13, and Moses, 11.
Gwyneth first called Chris brother while on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in January. “He’s really like my brother, we’re very familial. It’s nice, it’s great,” she said, adding that after the divorce, it was important to “maintain a family even though we weren’t a couple.”

Then in March, Gwyneth did it again, and called Chris “my brother” in a birthday post on Instagram. “Happy birthday my brother. Thank you for giving me these two,” she captioned a pic of their family of four. “Chris has asked her to stop but she wont,” said the source.
Meanwhile, just a day prior to Chris’ pic, Gwyneth posted a photo of her fiancé Brad Falchuck and called him “the epitome of love and kindness…my beacon.”
