Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow have done a pretty good job of being a loving, happy family since “consciously uncoupling” in 2014. But the singer has revealed that internally he was not ok. He was in such a bad place his Coldplay bandmates and manager were very concerned. Read on for more details.
Chris got candid about his struggle following the divorce in a new Amazon Documentary: Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams. "I was just like, 'I'm a mess,' really, because I can't enjoy the great things around me. Then, of course, I went through a break-up with Gwyneth," he said.
The 41-year-old continued saying he felt "completely worthless and nothing to anybody" for an entire year.
It got so bad his bandmates and people around him were concerned. "I was worried about him to the extent that I was just really glad to get a text in the morning, just to know he was OK,” revealed former agent Phil Harvey.
He was able to get through it. Both him and Gwyneth have moved on: he’s now linked to actress Dakota Johnson. The pair recently sparked pregnancy rumors when balloons were seen flying from the singer's home. His leading lady shot those down.
The former couple, who are parents to daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12, have remained very close since "consciously uncoupling" five years ago. In fact, Gwyneth posted this on Instagram to wish her ex-husband a happy father's day.
