Chrissy Metz may have had to overcome childhood abuse and an unexpected breakup from cameraman Josh Stancil, but over the weekend the actress couldn’t stop smiling while signing copies of her new book. Click through to see the photos!
As she claimed in her shocking new memoir, This Is Me: Loving the Person You Are, it’s taken years for Chrissy to heal after her stepfather Trigger physically abused her and body shamed her for eating.
I’m a tough cookie,” Metz told People “But it’s one of those things that attempts to break your spirit.”
Another thing that threatened to break her was her recent split from Josh. But as fans witnessed over the weekend, the 37-year-old has been doing just fine.

In fact, she couldn’t keep the grin off her face as she signed copies of her new book in Los Angeles.
She donned a green floral print dress with bell sleeves, and paired it with red strappy flats.
And guess who showed up at the event? Her co-star Chris Sullivan, who supported her at the signing.
