Soccer superstar David Beckham got real about his marriage to music legend Victoria when he spoke to Lisa Wilkinson on Australia’s The Sunday Project. He revealed some details about their relationship in the interview. Keep reading to find out what he had to say.
The power couple have been married for 19 years and celebrated their anniversary on July 4. They have four children, ranging in ages from 19 to seven years old.
David said in the interview, "To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work. It becomes a little bit more complicated.”
“Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference, and I’ve noticed that with my children,” the 43-year-old said. He added, “The thing we have to do is protect our children.”

Rumors swirled late last year about the lovebirds being on the brink of divorce. Victoria recently squashed the gossip about their marriage in an interview with British Vogue.
“People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal,” Posh Spice said. “But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair.”
