The 27-year-old revealed she got baptized in the sacred Jordan River and opened up about it awakening her faith in God. Alongside photos of herself wearing a wet white tee in the river and posing in front of an ancient city, she wrote about how lucky she is to visit "the places I’d read about in the Bible growing up."

"I am an American singer. I was raised Christian and have Jewish ancestors. When I was offered an amazing opportunity to visit the places I’d read about in the Bible growing up, I said yes," the Texas native captioned the photos. "There is something absolutely magical about Israel.  I’ve never felt such a sense of spirituality or connection to God…something I’ve been missing for a few years now.  Spirituality is so important to me…to be baptized in the Jordan river – the same place Jesus was baptized – I’ve never felt more renewed in my life," she added.

At the Shalva National Center, Demi took photos with children as she gave them hugs. In another snap, she adorably hugged a little girl in the center's playroom. "While I was over there I fell in love with this little beauty at the Shalva National Center. What an amazing center for children with special needs ?," Demi wrote.

The pop star has endured several health issues over the last year. In July 2018, Demi overdosed and was rushed to the hospital. Weeks later, she checked into a rehab facility to get healthy.
