Derick Dillard may be getting a law degree, but how does he feel about his female classmates? When a follower asked Derick his thoughts on educating girls, the controversial former Counting On star didn’t mince words when letting the fan know how he really feels.
A fan asked Derick, a father of two, if he had “any comments” on Michelle Obama’s new campaign Girls Alliance, which is working to ensure girls all over the world have an education.
“If you had a daughter, would you encourage her to be educated? Would you encourage her to go to law school or medical school and become a professional like you?” the fan added.
Derick replied, “Yes, if that’s what she wanted to do.” “I’m glad to hear that,” the fan said back.

As OK! fans know, Derick is know for making controversial comments on Twitter. His transphobic comments about TLC star Jazz Jennings got him kicked off Counting On.
However, it seems when it comes to girls’ education, Derick takes a more modern stance. And his mom’s influence may have something to do with it. “My mom is a professional working woman and has been for the past 40 years,” he added.
Despite his view, Derick’s own wife Jill was homeschooled and did not receive a formal education. She has, however, accompanied her husband to law school on several occasions.
