Derick Dillard is once again turning away from his family’s conservative way of thinking. Jill Duggar’s husband revealed on Twitter over the weekend that he, unlike his in-laws, is okay with his kids going away for college.
On Sunday, the father-of-two tweeted a video of his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, winning a basketball game. He captioned the post, “It’s times like these I miss college! Way to go Pokes on the bedlam victory!”
The college-oriented tweet seemed to catch some fans off guard as one of Derick’s followers responded: “Will your boys ever get the chance to go to college? Yeah, I didn't think so.”
Within minutes Derick clapped back at the Twitter user, responding, “Absolutely! As long as the school color isn’t red with a wagon mascot lol jk.”

As Duggar fans' know, the family adheres to a strict set of guidelines for their children, with all of the 19 Duggar kids having been homeschooled. (Some of the older children have reportedly taken college courses online).
While nearly all the Duggar children leave the nest in their teens (either by marriage or for job purposes), no Duggar child has left home to pursue higher education.
