Maks Chmerkovskiy is apologizing to Vanessa Lachey for abandoning her during Monday’s night Dancing with the Stars. As fans of DWTS know, the former TRL host was forced to dance with Alan Bersten when Maks dropped out at the last minute due to a “personal issue.” However, an insider told Us Weekly that Maks dropped out because he and Vanessa aren’t getting along! Now, Maks is taking to Twitter to clear the air and assure Vanessa he’ll be back to dance next week.
“As you are all aware, I had to leave the show last week to take care of some personal issues. I take full responsibility for my absence....,” Maks tweeted.
".... and want to apologize to my partner Vanessa. We are both looking forward to dancing for our fans next week!” he tweeted a moment later.
According to an Us Weekly source, Maks’ absence was less due to a personal issue and more due to the fact that he and Vanessa can’t get along. "There is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes," the source claimed.

"Their personalities are very similar so they disagree about everything. They refuse to give into one another," the insider told Us. "They’re playing nice for the cameras but both are miserable paired with each other."
Still, on Tuesday morning, Maks assured fans he was getting back into the studio with Vanessa to prep for next week’s episode. “New week! VEEEEERY excited for @DancingABC new dance studio and new dance with @VanessaLachey ! Can’t wait to be back at the Ballroom!” he tweeted.
