Maksim, 39, held Peta’s hand during their night at Cleo Mediterraneo in Los Angeles. The professional dancers were noticeably upset after the mom-of-one’s rough night at the DWTS premiere.
Maksim retired from being a series regular after season 25 of DWTS in 2018. Peta, 33, took a two-year break after giving birth.
Lamar also acknowledged that dancing was a big step for him. “This post goes out to all my fans in the world. In 2015 my family was told by doctors to say goodbye. At that time, there was a small or no chance I’d survive. I did survive though and when I woke up from my coma nobody really knew if I’d ever walk or talk again,” he wrote on Instagram. “Yet there I was yesterday after surviving 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks dancing my ass off on @dancingabc with the amazing @petamurgatroyd!!!!”
Maksim was there to support his wife’s return to the show every step of the way. Earlier in the day, he and their 2-year-old son, Shai, visited Peta during the taping of the show.
The parents chased their rambunctious little one outside and shared a sweet kiss.
Peta also credited her husband and little man for getting her day started on a high note. “Today’s the day! And Shai is PUMPED. Before I hit the ballroom, I gotta kick off my morning with my two biggest fans,” she captioned a sweet photo of them around the breakfast table.
