Inside Ellen DeGeneres Retirement Plans — 'I Should Walk Away'

Ellen DeGeneres might still be in the prime of her career, but she’s already thinking about the end. In an new interview, the daytime talk show host spoke candidly retirement and revealed how she’ll know when it’s time to throw in the towel.
"I hope I know when,” Ellen, 61, told Entertainment Tonight during an event for her Relatable Netflix special. “Maybe when people kind of are tired of me, and I think I'll sense that."
“People get tired of people, especially in today's age,” she explained.
However, after giving it some thought, the Louisiana native added, "You know, I'll walk away really when I stop having fun. I actually don't care about the rest of the people.”

"If I'm having fun and no one's watching, I don't care,” she said, “But if I'm not having fun and everyone's watching, then I should walk away."
Since its premiere in 2003, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has won over 60 Daytime Emmys and 19 People’s Choice Awards.
