Emma Watson is ready to take the next step with her boyfriend, tech entrepreneur William “Mack” Knight, but only if she gets to run the show! The UN Women Goodwill Ambassador has been passionate about the fight for women equality, and now it’s influencing her approach to relationships. After nearly 18 months of dating, Emma and Mack are reportedly thinking of getting engaged, but Emma isn’t okay with Mack doing the proposing. Instead, the actress would rather pop the question herself!
“Being so passionate about gender equality in her career has really opened her up to a new way of thinking about the traditional roles that men and women play, specifically when it comes to marriage,” a source told Grazia magazine exclusively.
“Emma has been telling friends that she wants to be the one to propose to him and break tradition,” the insider claimed. “She doesn’t see why it should be such a big deal and wants to encourage more women to think differently.”
Emma and Mack were first linked in October 2015, when they were spotted leaving the Broadway show Hamilton together in NYC. They reportedly went on a week-long trip to Big Sur, CA, a few months later, and have been inseparable ever since.

“From the beginning of their relationship, they’ve been amazed at how much common ground they share,” the source told the mag. “Their families agree that they are perfect for each other.”
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Mack supports Emma’s cause. “Mack always encourages her when it comes to her passion for gender equality…She can’t think of anyone else she’d rather be with,” the insider added.
