It’s been nearly five years since we last heard the sweet voice of Kristen Bell utter the words, “XOXO, Gossip Girl,” on The CW’s hit show. But according to an industry insider, the world of Gossip Girl may be returning — in movie form! A source told that over at Warner Bros., plans to reboot the show as a film are already being discussed. “They had great success with the Sex and the City films, and it makes sense to capitalize on this show in the same way,” the insider claimed. And while most of the former cast is eager to make it happen, one star still needs convincing, Blake Lively!
“Leighton Meester is apparently on board, and Sebastian Stan has said that he, Chace Crawford and Jessica Szohr are all hoping it’ll happen,” the source told OK!
Blake, however, now a mom of two and married to Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds, may not be as quick to join the project.
Since leaving the show, Blake has made a name for herself at the box office, starring in such films as The Age of Adaline and The Shallows, so would she be willing to return to her Serena van der Woodsen past?

“A couple of years ago she would never have agreed, but now that she’s established an identity apart form the show, she seems more open to it,” the insider shared.
And with shows like Baywatch and 21 Jump Street getting the silver screen treatment, it wouldn't be a stretch to do the same to Gossip Girl. Added the source, “They’re all feeling a bit nostalgic — and the paycheck wouldn’t hurt.”
