They grow up so fast! Hilary Duff and fiancé Matthew Koma shared a warm message on their Instagram accounts on Friday, October 25 in honor of their daughter, Banks Violet Bair, who celebrated her first birthday.
“Banks bear what a year,” the Lizzie McGuire star, 32, wrote. “You made mommy a mommy again, you made daddy a daddy (the absolute best) you made bruvah a brother (the absolute best) you are spirited and funny and brave edible and we are so lucky that on this day one year ago you made your arrival and made our family the four pack that we are! Happy Birthday beautiful … you get all the birthday cake today!”
The Disney Channel star and singer welcomed baby Banks into the world on Oct. 25, 2018. She shared the news with family and fans just a few days after later.
Proud father Matthew, 32, also shared some kind words to the birthday girl in his own IG tribute.

“The amount of joy, love, laughter and life you’ve brought into our hearts is immeasurable and there are no words to do justice the force that is you in a high chair eating a croissant,” Matthew wrote. “Being your father is truly the greatest gift of my life and every “phase” continues to be a ‘this is the best part’ moment … accompanied by a little heartbreak knowing how fast it goes and how delicate every minute of every day is.”
Matthew made sure to also shout out Hilary and her son Luca, who she shares with ex-husband, Mike Comrie. He told baby Banks how lucky she is to have her mom and her big brother in her life and how she will always feel safe and protected.
The Younger star has given fans a chance to follow her journey as mother as she regularly shares photos of Bank’s growth on social media, including intimate footage from her home water birth.
Hilary and Matthew met while they were working on Hilary’s album Breath In. Breath Out. back in 2015. After a brief spilt, the addition of a pet dog, and birth of their new baby, the pair are now engaged.
