On a recent episode of the talk show The Real, Tamar Braxton told her co-hosts Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry that she and her husband Vincent Herbert didn’t sign a prenup before their marriage in 2008. With Herbert's success as a record executive and Braxton’s lucrative reality TV and music careers, the couple's lack of a prenup came as a shock to many.
Braxton explained to viewers that she and Herbert decided “divorce was not an option" and felt no need to deal with the prenuptial agreement document. And they aren’t the only famous pair to choose love over protecting their pre-marriage money. Here are several more Hollywood couples that passed on the prenup.

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson broke hearts around the world when they divorced in 2005. But Simpson’s bank account was also aching after Lachey reportedly left the marriage with $10 million of her money, according to magazine reports. At the time of their split, Jessica’s career was more successful than Lachey’s. So much of the money they split likely came from from her projects.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand were another pair that decided not to sign a prenup. They were married for a short 14 months before Brand filed for divorce. However, magazine reports said the divorce was drama free and he wanted none of her money.

Ellen DeGeneres and her sweetie Portia de Rossi are still together after they wed in 2008. They decided that they’d forgo the prenup. And their union is still standing strong, unlike our next couple.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe announced their separation in 2006. When they finally divorced in 2007, it was decided that they would equally split their earnings since they lacked a prenup. Witherspoon was more successful than Philippe at the time of their divorce. So that dip into her funds had to hurt a little.
