Are Common and Erykah Badu dating again? Pictures surfaced of the rapper, 47, and neo-soul singer, 48, sitting next to each other at Black Girls Rock 2019 Awards on August 25. The pair also performed together, subsequently sparking rumors that the former couple got back together.
Without hesitation, fans speculated the rumored couple’s status. “Let the rumors BEGIN,” an eager fan commented. “He look like he want that old thing back,” someone else wrote, as Common appeared relaxed sitting next to his ex.
Common and Erykah appeared comfortable together onstage for the crowd in Newark, New Jersey. “I can see them together,” someone commented. A fan chimed in, “They need to get back together.”
“A joint album would be dope!” a hopeful fan commented. Common and Erykah collaborated on hit singles “The Light” and “Love of My Life,” released in 2000 and 2002, respectively.

When Erykah and Common initially called it quits in 2002, the “Glory” singer recalled the breakup leaving him “in a haze,” and found it “hard to eat."
“With Erykah Badu, that was my first love where you’re just open and floating,” Common revealed to People in March 2019 ahead of the release of his memoir, Let Love Have the Last Word.
Whether or not the former couple is making romantic amends remains a mystery.
