Jax Taylor opened up to Men's Health about a dark period in his life when he dealt with issues of suicide thoughts and self-harm. He spoke about how his father's death from cancer changed his life forever and how he handled the event.
The 39-year-old said, "I get a phone call over speaker and it was my mom bawling her eyes out. She’s, like, ‘Your father is dead.’" He was in a car with his fiancée Brittany Cartwright at the time. "I pulled the car over. I collapsed.”
"I didn't know how to deal. I was on the way to see him the next day. I fell on the ground in the middle of the highway. I threw my phone on the highway," Jax recalled. "I was convulsing and everything. I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do. My life flashed. My best friend died."
The Vanderpump Rules star explained, “I was in a deep rut. I was literally going to lock myself in a room and do enough drugs to hurt myself.”
