The couple is in court attempting to regain custody of their children. In May, CPS removed Kaiser, 4, Jenelle's son with ex Nathan Griffith, Maryssa, 11, who is David’s daughter from a previous relationship, and Ensley, their only child together. Jenelle’s mom Barbara has full custody of her son Jace, 9, with ex Andrew Lewis. She was ordered to not allow Jace to have visits with his mother.
At the end of April 2019, David shot and killed their family dog Nugget after it allegedly snapped at their daughter, Ensley.
