One of the most anticipated premieres this spring season is Jersey Shore Family Vacation, which takes the cast from the Jersey Shore franchise and plops them down in Miami for another round of "Gym, Tan, Laundry" and so much more. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola was the only cast member who opted out of participating in the reboot, and the rest of the cast finally spoke out about their thoughts regarding her absence during an interview with People Now on Tuesday. News broke out that the Jersey Shore cast was reuniting for an upcoming series called Jersey Shore Family Vacation back in November. Sammi’s name, however, was left off the cast list, leaving fans wondering why she wasn’t going to be participating.
Then, in February, she posted a pic of her and her boyfriend Christian Biscardi on her Instagram that showed the two of them in a beachy-type setting. Fans thought she was in Miami when the pic was taken, however the photo had nothing to do with the show’s reboot and she hasn’t been seen filming or posting any photos with the cast prior or since then.
The returning cast spoke about her decision to not return to the show with People Now, who say her reasoning for not coming back is because she’s in a good place in her life and in her relationship with Christian.

They did, however, have some interesting answers when asked if she would be on the second season (it’s already been renewed ahead of the first one airing) after seeing the upcoming reboot. “For somebody to say no to that this time, with all the media, all those comments... she must see them, she must want to do it, I gotta say. She must want to do the second one,” exclaimed Pauly D.
“I look at it like this. If she was never brought up again in the world, and part of Jersey Shore… fine. Move on with your life, and enjoy whatever life changes you have that don’t make you want to come back,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley said. “But for the simple fact that she’ll always be apart of us and she’ll always be mentioned, or brought up, at least capitalize on it. Speak your truth, come in, fight us or whatever, love us or be around us, it’s kind of sh***y that’s she’s not taking the opportunity.”
Deena Cortese doesn’t seem as optimistic regarding Sammi’s potential return. “I don’t know if she will though. We’ve tried to talk to her about that, and she was like ‘You know, I would love to but I just’… she’s just not that into it anymore.”
