Jessa tried to get a video of Spurgeon saying hi to his grandma, Michelle Duggar, but the three-year-old wasn’t interested. Instead, he kept saying “Cheese” and posing for the camera whenever his mom asked him to say hello.
Jessa used the video to send a message to fans about parenting. “This short clip pretty much represents life with kids,” she wrote in the caption. “Mom has her plans or ideas, and kid has his— and the two don’t always mesh.”

Jessa said it’s all about finding “the balance” between letting kids be “their own little person” and making sure they listen. “Sometimes it’s challenging and frustrating, but other times it’s downright amusing and I have to work hard to keep from busting out laughing at a behavior I don’t condone,” she admitted.
She then left followers with this advice: “Mamas, look for the humor in life — and even if you can’t laugh in the moment, take time to recount later on and have a good chuckle. It helps to keeps us sane.”
In addition to her son Spurgeon, Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald also have one-year-old Henry. While having two boys may be a handful at times, there could be another Seewald baby on the way: Jessa admitted she had “baby fever” after meeting her niece Felicity Vuolo in July!
