Jill And Derick Dillard End Their Mission Trip In Central America After Two Years

Jill and Derick Dillard have announced that they're abruptly ending their mission trip in Central America after two years. Just one month after the birth of their second son, they've decided to stay in the United States, according to the Daily Mail.
The pair shared the news in a blog post titled "New Direction in Ministry." Jill and Derick announced they were doing mission work in Central America in July 2015, right after TLC cancelled their reality TV show 19 Kids And Counting. A lot has happened during their time there, including the shocking murder of their friend in El Salvador.
In the post, Jill and Derick said God was guiding them back to their home country. The parents to two-year-old Israel and one-month-old Samuel said it'd been "a joy and a blessing" to work in Central America.
They first announced they were leaving the U.S. in the wake of Jill's brother Josh's molestation scandal. It was revealed that he'd molested several minors while he was a teen, including his sisters.

Jill and Derick took Israel with them to Central America and the whole family has been learning Spanish. They returned to America in August 2016 for Jill's sister Jinger's wedding, and again for Joy's wedding. Then they stayed for the birth of Samuel last month.
"It has been a joy and blessing to see how our Lord has worked in Central America," the couple wrote, "and your generous giving has been a huge part of making that possible!"
