According to ABC, Billy’s surgery was scheduled for Monday and went off without a hitch. Jimmy decided to “welcome guest hosts this week” so he can stay home with his family as Billy recovers.
On Monday night, Chris Pratt filled in for Jimmy, and he’s to be followed by Tracee Ellis Ross, Neil Patrick Harris, and Melissa McCarthy.
Back in May, Jimmy revealed the upsetting news that his son, who was born on April 21, has a serious heart issue. At just three few days old, he underwent open-heart surgery.

On his show, Jimmy made an emotional plea to Congress to provide affordable health care so other families could afford to make the same life-saving choices for their own children as Jimmy did for Billy.
Billy’s second surgery was originally scheduled for October but was postponed when he caught a cold. In July, Jimmy provided an update on Billy’s condition and said he was “doing great.” "Please remind your Congresspeople that every kid deserves the care he got,” he added.
