Jimmy Kimmel has a lot to smile about these days! Hours after revealing his newborn son William was born with a heart defect (and given life-saving surgery), he posted the cutest photo to thanks fans for their support.

"Sincere thanks for the outpouring of love & support," the late night host tweeted. “Dr. Jane is keeping a close ear on Billy, who is very well – XO.”

Jimmy revealed on his talk show that about three hours after his son was born, a nurse noticed he looked a bit purple, which is not common.

A doctor determined William was not getting enough oxygen into his blood. Jimmy and his wife put their son in an ambulance to be taken to a children’s hospital in Los Angeles, and a doctor was able to fix one of the two defects in his heart.

While William still requires two more surgeries down the road, Jimmy can breathe a sigh of relief for the time being.
