Jinger Duggar is opening up about her experience as a mother. In a gushing Instagram post, the Counting On star reflected on her first five months of parenthood and revealed what it feels like to be a mom to daughter Felicity.

Jinger shared a photo of herself looking into her daughter’s eyes as Felicity looked up at her. “I love being a mother,” Jinger began.

“I love it that she can’t contain her excitement when she hears her daddy’s voice. I love it that she crinkles her nose when she laughs...just like I do,” she continued. “I love it that she is my daughter.”

Jinger grew more serious as she wrote, “Motherhood is a gift. It’s a gift not to be taken for granted and it’s a gift that ought not be despised.”

“It’s a unique gift that allows me to demonstrate toward my daughter the love that God has graciously demonstrated toward me,” Jinger explained, before calling motherhood “a profound gift that reveals the heart of God in a way I had never imagined.”

Jinger finished her post with the message, “It’s a weighty gift that places upon my shoulders the nurture of this tiny soul. Motherhood is a gift for which I thank God every day.”

As OK! readers know, Jinger and her husband Jeremy Vuolo welcomed Felicity on July 19. Although they have dealt with a lot of mom shaming over the past few months, the couple continues to defy fans by parenting their own way.
