One person took a harsh jab at Jeremy and his relationship with Jinger's family. “Please stop presenting yourself as a celebrity of sorts. You are the husband of a fundie reality show participant,” they wrote. “You are striving to make a living as an ‘influencer". Your posts about coffee and food and clothes are self-serving and arrogant.”

Other fans hopped in the pastor hopeful’s comments and defended him. “I hope you don’t give any credence to the negative comments. So many people, in order to make them feel superior, enjoy try shaming with ugly words. It’s common and sad,” a fan commented. Another person wrote, “Just because you believe in Christ does not mean you can't be a foodie or influencer.”

This isn’t the first instance in which Jeremy has been criticized for his social media content. On February 13, he posted a photo of himself before heading to visit family. One person commented, “Most pastors don’t have enough money to travel!! But here you guys are traveling the country, have a beautiful home in a very nice area, nice cars. And the most important thing is you do everything for a fee. That not how you serve the Lord.”

After the former soccer professional posted a photo of himself at an ice cream shop on January 3, a fan told Jeremy that they were unfollowing him. “I'm gonna excuse myself from this IG... It appears to have become most interested in partnering and making money and garnering attention... to what end? I just expect more from a Christian studying to be a pastor with a big platform...”
