Joaquin Phoenix and Zazie Beetz are getting ready to bring another version of Batman's nemesis to the big screen with their upcoming film Joker. They are currently shooting the movie, which is scheduled for release in October 2019, in New York.

Joaquin tackles the role of DC comics' the Joker, made famous by other stars like Jack Nicholson, Jared Leto, and the late Heath Ledger. In this latest edition, he plays both versions of the villain: before and after his transformation.

Her role isn’t the only question mark: Robert De Niro is also rumored to be making an appearance. According to Variety, “The script has ties to De Niro's famed role in 1982's The King of Comedy, in which a failing comedian (De Niro) kidnaps a popular talk-show host to gain fame. In Joker, the roles would be reversed, with De Niro playing the smug host.”
