Josh Lucas recently sat down with Good Morning America and talked about the possibility of a Sweet Home Alabama sequel. The actor revealed that he has talked "extensively" with the director of the film and has already "said yes," to the new project but mentioned Reese Witherspoon may be too busy for the job! “I’ve absolutely said yes,” Josh, 47, said when asked if there would ever be a sequel to the classic flick. The actor, who played Jake Perry in the movie, then went on to say that he and the director of the film, Andy Tennant, have already talked about to prospect of a second movie!

“He and I discussed it extensively so we’re lobbying the world to join us," he said.

"But if anyone has noticed, Reese is quite busy these days," Josh added of the Big Little Lies star with a laugh.

He then went into possible storylines for the second film. “The proposal that the director had, which was quite interesting, is that my character Jake is back in Alabama and Reese’s character Melanie is back in New York with our kids and we’re divorced, so their whole life is super complicated,” he shared.

Meanwhile, the third movie of Reese's famous franchise, Legally Blonde is currently in pre-production and set to premiere sometime in 2020.
