K-Pop Group Monsta X Releases Another All English Track!
Korean group Monsta X is back with another single! Their new song “Someone’s Someone” comes just weeks after their highly publicized “Who Do U Love?” collaboration with French Montana and its followup single “Love U.”
The track is just shy of 2 and a half minutes and it features a jaunty electro-pop beat and stunning harmonies. Like the group’s two preceding singles, the lyrics are in all English. The group has already broken into the U.S. market, dominating charts and streaming services and selling out a stateside tour with their mostly Korean hits. Now, members Shownu, Minhyuk, Hyungwon, Kihyun, Joohoney, I.M., and Wonho are keeping up that momentum with their newest release.
“We all wanna be someone's / Wanna be someone's someone / Someone we can't live without,” the lyrics read. The song — which was partly written and composed by the group’s leader Shownu, 27, — is about longing and yearning but manages to remain catchy and upbeat.
The video for the song is slated for release next week. Though it has yet to be confirmed, the song will presumably be featured on Monsta X’s upcoming mini album Follow: Find You. The follow up to the group's Take.2 We Are Here is set to hit music stores and streaming services on October 28.
Shortly after the song’s release, fans took to social media to gush about the new single. “This is such a beautiful song, especially the harmonies in the chorus,” one Reddit user wrote.

“I saw so many people say that ‘Someone's Someone’ is maybe Monsta X's best English song and I was scared that the song wouldn't live up to the hype,” another fan tweeted. “But it really is THE BEST English song from them!” In addition to “Who Do U Love?” and “Love U,” the group have another English language song called “Play It Cool" featuring Steve Aoki.
In August, Monsta X’s collaboration with rapper French Montana, "Who Do U Love?" hit the Billboard Top 40 charts. The summer single is currently holding onto spot 25. Though the critics and fans raved about the song itself, a few protective fans thought have some bold thoughts about the live performance on Jimmy Kimmel.
Since then, the group has made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show and they became the first K-pop group to perform at both the iHeart Radio Music Festival and Life Is Beautiful Festival in Vegas.
