Inside Karl Lagerfeld’s Final Chanel Show — ‘The Beat Goes On’

The fashion industry honored the late Karl Lagerfeld at the Chanel Paris Fashion Week show on March 4. The event drew in attendees such as Anna Wintour and Naomi Campbell and had models crying down the runway as they remembered the designer, who created the ski resort winter wonderland set before he passed on February 19.
Guests received a card that had a sketch designed by Karl of the creative director and the brands' founder, Coco Chanel. Above the drawing were the words, “The beat goes on.”
Naomi sat front row and wore a chain link designed jacket and skirt, a gold hat and matching thigh high boots. The supermodel was likely cheering on Kaia Gerber, who she’s referred to as her “niece” in the past because of her close friendship to Cindy Crawford.
Kaia sported a white dress that was jeweled on the top and had fur on the skirt.
Cara Delevinge rocked a signature black and white Chanel print on the runway. The actress was bundled up with a belted bodysuit, a floor-length jacket, and a hat to match.
Ashley Benson sat on the sidelines in support of her rumored girlfriend Cara. The Pretty Little Liars star wore a navy leather jacket and black leather pants. She subtly accessorized with Chanel earrings and a clutch that matched Cara’s runway look.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour dressed in a purple tweed skirt suit and snakeskin boots.
Penelope Cruz walked the runway with a white rose in her hand. The actress wore a white ruffled top and a fur skirt.
Janelle Monae showed off her own personal style while also incorporating Chanel. The singer wore an elaborate full-body jewelry piece along with earrings and a bag designed by the brand.
Kristen Stewart kept it simple in a black quilted body suit that had the Chanel logo patterned in white.
The models did their final walk as the song “Heroes” by David Bowie played. Many of them could be seen in tears as they took their last steps at Karl’s last show.
