The countdown for royal baby number two has begun! Preparations have started outside the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where Kate Middleton is expected to give birth sometime in late April. And just as they did when Prince George was born two years ago, Prince William and the Duchess are keeping some—but not all!—the details a secret! Click through to read 10 things we know about the second royal baby!
The Palace has been mum about Kate’s exact due date, but the Duchess herself reportedly told a charity worker that she is due in “mid-to-late April,” which is pretty close to Kate and Will’s wedding anniversary!

We still don’t officially know the gender of the baby-to-be, but according to betting odds, it’s going to be a girl. Just as OK! reported back in February, bookies are convinced Will and Kate will have a little princess because Kate wore a bright pink coat for her final public appearance before going on maternity leave.
Girl or boy, a Palace insider told OK! Magazine that Kate is hopping off the baby train after this one! “Kate and Prince William are overjoyed that they’ve been lucky enough to be parents of two children,” a source said. “With William being one of two, he loves that bond he shares with Prince Harry and wants the same for his kids.”
He’s not the only one excited, either! Celebrities have been sending outrageously luxe baby gifts to the royal couple! An insider told OK! that Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour sent a Chanel baby outfit.
Jay Z and Beyonce sent a care package which included “a vintage record player to play soothing music at bedtime” which William thinks is “awesome.”
Speaking of dad duty, Prince William recently started a new job as an air ambulance helicopter pilot, but will definitely still be around for his new son or daughter. “William had planned to free his schedule, but he couldn’t turn down the chance for his dream job,” a source said. “He’s arranged to work four days on, then four off—which he’ll spend bonding with the kids.”
And for the days Wills isn’t around, Kate and the kids will have their nanny, plus a night nurse! The royals have decided to hire an evening staffer to help out. “They’ll always be hands-on with their children, but Kate’s realized that help with the kids is crucial to her family’s happiness,” an insider said. “William didn’t want the help, but Kate pointed out that lack of sleep will just make them more stressed and he finally agreed!”
She’s not the only Middleton who has been crowding their residence. Royal biographer Nicholas Davies told OK! last month that Carole Middleton has been living with William, Kate and George and causing tension with the rest of the royal family.
