Keira Knightley has a new royal title! The actress has been named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and today she visited Buckingham Palace to accept the honor. She was joined by her parents, Sharman and Kevin Knightley, and her husband, James Righton, as she prepared to receive her OBE.
Keira wore a yellow and tan tweed skirt suit over a white shirt. She accessorized with a matching tweed hat, a blush pink belt to cinch her waist, and a tie.
The Colette actress was all smiles as she held up a pink pin adorned with her new medal.
Keira first received notice of being a recipient to the OBE in June and tonight she is being honored at a formal ceremony at the palace.

The award was given to Kiera by the Queen for her services to drama. The actress previously joked to Stephen Colbert, “I wasn’t aware that Britain still had an empire but it’s nice to be an office of it anyway.”
Her daughter, Edie Knightley Righton, wasn’t in attendance at the event. Her royal title doesn’t mean much to the three-year-old. Keira revealed to Stephen, “My daughter was having a tantrum at me and I tried this, ‘You can’t have a temper tantrum at me. I’m an officer! You should salute me or something.’”
