In a shocking turn of events, the man who tried to extort comedian Kevin Hart over an alleged sex tape was once a close member of his entourage. That particular man, named Jonathan Todd Jackson, was arrested on Monday and charged with two felony counts -- attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter.
The Blast revealed all the details surrounding the arrest on Wednesday. Insiders told the site that Kevin and Jonathan had more of a close and trusted associate relationship as opposed to a friendship.
After the comedian's legal team informed him that it was Jonathan behind the scheme to bilk him out of millions of dollars, Kevin allegedly refused to believe that someone in his inner circle would go to such depths to hurt him.
Jonathan seemed to have access to several stars in Hollywood, as his Instagram page showed him taking photos with The Rock, Marlon Wayans and Shemar Moore.
