Khloe Kardashian was just as surprised as everyone else when her ex Tristan Thompson posted a gushing message to her on Instagram in honor of her 35th birthday. The Revenge Body star was caught off guard and questioned his intentions for making such a public statement.
"They thought it was very calculated and that Tristan was trying to make himself look good. It wasn't necessary and Khloe didn't understand why he did it. It took her by surprise that he would publicly wish her a happy birthday," a source told E! News.
The source continued, "They don't talk about anything but True, so it was out of the blue and seemed like Tristan was trying to repair his image. They could all see through it."
In case you missed it, the NBA star shared a gushing tribute to the mother of his child on social media before turning off the comments feature to avoid being bashed by trolls.

Khloe dumped the athlete after he publicly humiliated her by cheating with Kylie Jenner's former best friend Jordyn Woods.
The Good American designer has done her best to amicably coparent with the basketball star for True's sake and even invited him to her first birthday party back in April.
