Khloe Kardashian never hesitated to give her daughter True her baby daddy Tristan Thompson’s last name — even in the wake of his cheating scandal. And as for the name “True,” Khloe and Tristan had reportedly settled on it long before Tristan was caught spending the night in a hotel with another woman!
“Khloé still very much loves Tristan, and this baby is one half his. True is their child together. Giving the baby his last name was never in question,” an insider told People magazine.
Khloe announced True’s name via Instagram on Monday, four days after she gave birth to her daughter. The delivery occurred just hours after a video surfaced that seemed to show Tristan making out with another woman at a club. The two were filmed entering the same hotel later that night.
Despite the cheating scandal, Khloe put on a united front when announcing True’s name. “Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE. Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family!” she wrote, adding, “Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!”

According to Khloe’s mom Kris Jenner, True is a family name. “FUN FACT… my Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my real Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so i am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!! #lovebug #familytradition #family,” she wrote on Instagram.
An insider told People that despite the cheating scandal, Khloe “really wants to be able to forgive and trust Tristan again and have the life she hoped to have with him.” The source explained, “She doesn’t know if she’ll be able to do that, but that’s the goal…It was very intentional that the statement was basically from the both of them, and reinforces that they are Mommy and Daddy, in this together."
