For fans who think Kim Kardashian got her stolen engagement ring back, look again. In the latest ads for her KKW Fragrance Diamonds Collection, the mother of four appeared to be wearing a ring similar to the one that was stolen from her in Paris in 2016. However, Kim, 39, revealed why it looks like she’s wearing the 20-carat ring.
“I borrowed all jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz,” she told Entertainment Tonight, who designed the ring that was stolen three years ago. “It was nice to borrow it all and it was nice to give it back to her.”
The reality star added, “That was a really fun shoot and because it was diamonds, I thought this was the perfect way to bring it back and wear them again.” Kim said that she reached out to Lorraine, who also designed her first engagement ring from Kanye West because the jeweler “always knows the cut and everything” that she is looking for.
“So when I want to wear something, I’ll borrow it from her for the day,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said. “There is a replica around. A little fake that I’ll borrow from her sometimes that she made. A really nice one. It looks really nice.”

In October 2016, during Paris Fashion Week, Kim was held at gunpoint when robbers entered her hotel room and stole $10 million of jewels. Her 20 carat ring was reportedly worth $4 million, and unfortunately it was never recovered. In January 2017, 17 men were arrested in connection to the robbery.
The alleged mastermind behind the sting operation, Aomar Ait Khedache, reportedly told the police that all of her jewelry — with the exception of the 20-carat ring — was melted down and sold in Antwerp, Belgium’s diamond district.
“We all made the decision to melt them down,” Aomar reportedly told investigators, according to excerpts from his police testimony that was published in French newspaper Le Monde. When he was asked about her ring, he responded, “there is a person who has it … Everyone was afraid to sell because it’s a stone that’s very easily spotted.”
Since the robbery, Kim, along with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, beefed up her security team. “Security and privacy issues have changed not only for her but for the whole family,” a source close to the family revealed to People at the time. “They have security guards most of the time when they go out.”
