Kim Kardashian may now be a reality TV star (and sex tape) icon but, as revealed in a candid interview with Business of Fashion, it all started off with a mere dream to be on MTV’s The Real World. Click through for more.
“When I was really young I always was — it’s the weirdest thing — but I loved MTV’s The Real World,” Kim told the publication. Really?
The 37-year-old didn’t just love the reality show, though. She wanted to be on the show. She even admitted, “I would say to my best friend’s dad, who was a manager, ‘You should be my manager! When we’re 18, I’m going to send a tape into The Real World because I have to be on a reality show.”
And she was determined to do so! “This is what I want to do. And then the producers of The Real World produced my show, so it kind of all came full circle,” she remembers.

But as OK! readers will recall, it was a sex tape with Ray J that first launched the mom of three (to Saint, 2, North, 4, and Chicago, 3 months) to superstardom—before Keeping Up with the Kardashians came along.
Clearly she was determined to become a celebrity one way or the other, and hasn’t looked back since. “I’m on like. Full. Force. Work. Mode. I’ve never worked this hard. Back in the day, we’d get up and do these satellite media tours, and start hair and makeup at three in the morning, and have to be live at five. I thought that was working hard. Now, I feel like just juggling a relationship, kids, being a mom, work, is just a different kind of experience.”
