Kim Kardashian was awarded $2.7 million in damages and $60,000 in attorney's fees on Wednesday, June 3, after filing a lawsuit against fast fashion company Missguided. The reality star filed her lawsuit in February 2019 and accused the company of using her name and likeness to sell cheaper versions of her outfits.
Kim, 38, won the lawsuit by default after Missguided never responded to the suit. She was initially seeking damages in excess of $10 million.
Kim decided to go after the retailer when they produced a gold dress that was nearly identical to a Yeezy designs one she showed off on Instagram just days earlier in February.
The company promoted their version using Kim's name and likeness by having a lookalike model wear the product.

"The devil works hard but Missguided works harder. @kimkardashian you’ve only got a few days before this drops online,” Missguided captioned the promo shot on Instagram.
The company even had a landing page on their website dedicated to the knockoffs they'd created from Kim's original outfits. They would screenshot Kim's Instagram photos and feature them alongside their versions of the designs.
Missguided has been permanently banned from from using Kim's trademarks, which include her face, name and other assets, to sell products.
