If you tweet to Lena Dunham tonight that you don’t like her dress (it was Zac Posen, by the way), or her show Girls, or anything for that matter, she won’t even know it because she deleted Twitter ahead of the Golden Globes.

“I deleted Twitter because I’m tying to create a safer space for myself emotionally,” she said. “People like threaten my life and tell me what a cow I am.”

“I check it occasionally,” she admitted, “but it’s not the same co-dependence.”
As for the premiere of Girls, which airs tonight as well, Dunham said: “I hope people enjoy it because and some new people tune in.”
