Over the weekend, Liam Neeson's nephew, Ronan Sexton, passed away at the age of 35 in Northern Ireland. Ronan's death comes five years after he sustained serious head injuries from a fall in 2014. Scroll through for the heartbreaking details.
Five years prior to Ronan's death, he was seriously injured after falling from a telephone booth and hitting his head while enjoying a night out with some friends in 2014, according to People. At the time, the police said that Ronan, 31 at the time, fell about 20 feet from the phone booth at around 4 a.m. that Sunday morning.
The Hollywood actor's nephew passed away in the village of Cushendall in Northern Ireland with his family present, according to The Belfast Telegraph.
Ronan was the youngest of six children. His mother Bernadette Neeson is Liam's sister. The Taken star also has two other sisters, Elizabeth and Rosaline Neeson.
The tragic death of Ronan comes almost 10 years after Liam lost his wife, well-loved British actress Natasha Richardson, who died at the age of 45 on March 18, 2009. She passes away two days after she fell and hit her head while skiing in Quebec, Canada.
The Parent Trap star left behind her and Liam's two young sons at the time, Michael Neeson, now 23, and Daniel Neeson, now 22.
