Lil Nas X Says He Considered Taking His Sexuality 'To The Grave' Before Coming Out As Gay

Lil Nas X came out as a gay on the last day of Pride month on June 30, but in a new BBC interview, the "Old Town Road" rapper admitted that he considered taking his sexuality "to the grave." Ultimately, he decided to share his truth in the hopes that others would feel more comfortable to do the same.

Lil Nas, 20, made his confession after being asked about how it felt to come out in such a public way.
"I mean it's just something that I was considering like never doing it ever, like taking it to the grave or something. I was like I don't just want to live my entire life, you know, not doing what I want to do," he explained.
He continued, "I'm also ... I feel like opening doors for people."

"I want them other gay people to feel more comfortable pretty much. Especially within the country and hip hop communities," the Georgia native added.
After coming forward with his sexuality he received support from fans and famous friends like Miley Cyrus.
"SO proud of my baby brother @lilnasx. In your corner forever my friend!” Miley, 26, wrote on Instagram.
Dennis Rodman even sent Nas a flirty message! "Lets. Ride. @lilnasx," the retired NBA star wrote on social media with a suggestive eggplant emoji.
