Maroon 5 has scored a touchdown of a gig: performing the halftime show at Super Bowl 2019.
Sources have revealed to US Weekly that it's in the bag for the longtime pop/rock band.
“The offer has been extended and they’ve pretty much accepted,” the insider revealed. It's something that they have actively been pursuing for years.
They also happen to have a decently sized break from shows in between their New Years' Eve Las Vegas gig and the February 19th start of the Australian leg of their tour.
Justin Timberlake was the halftime performer for this year's game, which took place in Minneapolis. He spent part of his show paying tribute to the late Prince, who was born and resided there.
Past singers and bands that have played the Halftime Show included Katy Perry, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. The 2019 Super Bowl will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3rd.
