Meghan King Edmonds is living a parent’s worst nightmare. After months of stressful doctors appointments, the former reality star, 34, shared the heartbreaking news in a heartfelt blog post on July 4.
Meghan's news comes at a trying time for her family. Her husband former MLB player Jim Edmonds faced affair allegations in June after a report claimed he cheated on his second wife.
“'From the minute he was born I knew something was different with Hart,' she wrote.
Meghan detailed countless doctor appointments she and Jim, 49, took her son, 13 months old, on. In June, Meghan initially revealed her concerns about Hart's health on her blog.
Finally, the couple found an answer: “Hart has irreversible brain damage.”

“Hart has minor Periventricular Leukomalacia on both sides of his brain (namely the white matter), but more so on his right,” the former reality star chronicled.
“The doctor said that this explains all of my concerns: the rigidity in his muscles, the (somewhat) delayed physical milestones, the lack of fluidity with arm and leg movements, the stiffness in joints, the weakness in his lower back, the somewhat favored use of his right side.”
“I pray for a miracle and I grapple with how to navigate his life. Thirteen days after his diagnosis I finally put these thoughts to paper. This is a heavy challenge as a mother: where do we go from here? This is where: one foot in front of the other.”
Meghan and Jim, share twins Hart and Hayes, 13 months, and Aspen, 2.
