Former Spice Girl Mel B may have been known as Scary Spice, but she was not afraid to leave her husband of ten years. The singer and television personality filed for divorce from Stephan Belafonte in a shock split this week.
The 41-year-old used the celebrity term “irreconcilable differences” in court papers filed in Los Angeles, and asked for joint custody as the two have a five-year-old daughter Madison.
The end may not surprise many, as Stephen made headlines back in January for getting a little too close to a mystery girl during a dinner date at STK in Manhattan while Mel B was performing on Broadway.

Then, back in 2014, Stephan was accused of being physically violent towards the beauty after she was seen during her stint on The X Factor UK with bruises on her face and arms, though he denied the allegations.
Unfortunately, this divorce is not the only drama Mel B has been subjected to recently, as her father passed away from cancer just weeks ago.
