The Situation was sentenced for evading taxes from 2014 and 2017. The maximum sentence he faced was five years in prison.

"We're disappointed," Mike's lawyer said. "We hoped for probation. But the judge gave her reasons. It's a sad day. Mike Sorrentino righted his life. That progress has been interrupted. But this doesn't set him back. We asked the court to allow him to surrender in 30 to 60 days. He is expected to get less than eight months in prison."

The Situation recently shared how he spent the week before his sentencing. He had a big party with friends and family, calling it “Our Big Italian Wedding Shower."

Mike plans to marry his fiancé Lauren Pesce in early November, just before he's expected to go to jail. He proposed to her in June on Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

While he was partying it up before his sentencing, The Situation's still committed to his sobriety. He celebrated two years sober in May this year.
