But on Tuesday, July 31, the 14-year-old actress took to her Instagram to crush the hearts of fans everywhere with the news that the two had broken up.
She wrote via a simple Instagram story, “The decision between Jacob and I was completely mutual.”

Before anyone could ask, the Stranger Things star quickly made clear that she and the musician split amicably, adding, “We are both happy and remaining friends.” She also included a heart emoji.
Though the two ended things on good terms, the reason for the split remains unclear. Perhaps it was their busy schedules? In addition to her work on the upcoming third season of Stranger Things, Millie is appearing in next year's Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Jacob, meanwhile, is managing his blossoming music career.
