Mo’Nique warned fans in a video on July 3 that self-neglect can have long-term consequences.
The actress, 51, was drenched in sweat in the video she posted. “Hey, my loves, so I just got finished with my workout,” she said.
She continued, “When I got up this morning and I read some of your posts and y’all say, ‘Mo, that looks amazing girl and I’m gonna start tomorrow’ and ‘I’m gonna start next week’ and ‘I’m gonna start when I get over this’ and ‘I’m gonna start when I get over that’ and you may never get to your start date.”
The comedian warned, “Your start date may be ten years from now and now your health is in poor shape and now you’ve become a burden on your family. I say that to y’all because it’s real.”
“This is no joke. I’m showing y’all what I’m doing and it ain’t no joke. Y’all watched my weight go up and down, up and down because it’s no joke. Get out and move,” she said in reference to her fluctuating weight.

Mo’Nique pleaded with fans, “Do not be a burden on your family due to self-neglect because it will be unfair. Do not be that person. And if you’re that person right now, look in the mirror and ask yourself why are you so comfortable not loving on yourself enough to save your life and the family that you create?”
