Well this certainly doesn’t look good. Amid numerous reports that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are ready to call it quits, they had a seemingly awkward meeting with an unidentified woman in Westwood, Calif.
The couple briefly met at California Pizza Kitchen and arrived in separate cars! That already cannot be good.
When they exited the restaurant 40 minutes later, Nicole walked several feet in front of Joel, and had her hands clenched together so it was unclear whether or not she was wearing her wedding ring. She’s been spotted without it for weeks now though!
Joel did have his wedding band on, however.

This is pretty disheartening, but "Nicole and Joel are going through a very tough time right now and their friends do not think that their marriage is going to survive," a source previously told RadarOnline.

"If it wasn't for the kids, they'd be divorced already," the insider said about the couple.
Following their awkward walks to their separate cars, Joel leaned through Nicole’s window to say goodbye as she revved up her car. They spoke for a minute before exchanging a frosty goodbye handshake.
