Yes, the Oscars statues are nice and shiny, but nothing is prettier to look at on Oscars night than those gorgeous famous couples walking the red carpet. Before you find yourself a comfy spot on the couch for this year's Academy Awards, airing Sunday, Feb. 22, take a look back at the best twosomes to ever arrive together to the awards show, from least recent to most.

Conscious coupling?! Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow were an item in 1996 and made quite the statement walking hand-in-hand on the Oscars carpet. Their relationship didn't last, but Gwyneth eventually did win an Oscar—though Brad surprisingly has not!

Nicole Kidman wore a dazzling haute couture Dior gown to the Oscars in 1997, but all eyes were on her and her (much shorter) then-hubby, Tom Cruise.
