Here's Why Paris Hilton Has No Regrets About Ending Her Engagement To Chris Zylka
Paris Hilton is speaking her truth. The Simple Life star opened up about breaking off her engagement to actor Chris Zylka in an new interview and she revealed why it was the "best decision" she ever made.
"It was the best decision I've ever made in my life," the 39-year-old told Cosmopolitan U.K. "I just don't think he was the right person and I feel like I'm an incredible woman and I deserve someone so amazing. It just didn't feel right. I've worked way too hard to just give my life to someone. They have to be perfect."
“It feels good to not have someone controlling me,” she added. “With dating certain people, there’s the risk of not trusting them and the fear that if I go out of town they might do something to embarrass me. I feel lucky now to not have that fear because I’m independent.”
Paris and Chris, 34, broke up in November 2018 after a 10-month engagement and two years of dating. The Secret Circle star proposed to the socialite with a glitzy $2 million ring.

Most recently, she has been romantically linked to entrepreneur Carter Reum. In January, the two were caught showing off PDA at a Golden Globes afterparty. A source told E! News at the time, that the couple was "smiling at each other as she placed her hand on the back of his head and touching and rubbing his neck."
However, Paris told Cosmo U.K. that she hasn't been in a serious relationship she split with Chris and told the outlet that she's more cautious about her love life.
Paris and Chris first met an Oscars afterparty in the early 2000s but made their romance Instagram official in February 2017. The Leftovers actor proposed to Paris during a vacation to Aspen, Colorado in January 2018.
The "Stars Are Blind" singer was also linked Riverdale star KJ Apa in August 2019. The two got flirty at a house party she hosted. A source revealed to Us Weekly at the time that the fragrance mogul and the New Zealand actor, 22, "were having a lot of fun" and got "super flirty."
